The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) was formed when the state of Andhra Pradesh formed on 1 November 1956. Earlier, the commission was known as the Andhra Service Commission (formed in 1953) which is based on the regulations of Madras Public Service Commission. Later in 1956, APPSC was formed by merging the Andhra Public Service Commission.

Qualification :-
- The candidates must have completed Graduation/ Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University
Experience :- Freshers/Experienced
Age Limit :-
- The age limit for the post of Personal Assistant as on 05/01/2022 is Between 18 to 32 years
Age relaxation for:
- APST – Relaxable upto 5 years
- PwD – 10years upper age relaxation for PwD (15 years for APST)
Salary :- Rs. 29,200 – Rs. 92,300(Level-5)

Selection Process :- The selection for the post of Personal Assistant will be based on 2 tests
- Stenographer Proficiency Test – It will be conducted for 5 minutes © 80 wpm. The candidate shall have to get minimum 368 correct transcribed words against dictation of 5 minutes @ 80 words per minute. The minimum qualifying marks in the stenographer Proficiency Test shall be 40 marks with a total of 100 marks
- Objective type multiple choice questions – the test will have questions from 3 subjects with a total of 100 questions (1 mark for each question). The total duration of the test is 2 hours.
- English – 50 questions
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to Operate computers – 30 questions
- General knowledge – 20 questions

- Rs. 150 for APST candidates and
- Rs. 200 for UNRESERVED candidates
